VITAL SERVICES STAFF INDUCTION

Welcome to Vital services. Our induction is to welcome you our new colleagues and to support and guide you in completing the mandatory training. It also covers the Code of Conduct that all staff within Vital services align to.

As part of Vital services induction you have to complete a number of e-learning narrated PowerPoint presentations, these will be shown to you for one hour for your first 5 shifts. If you have any questions please refer to your manager.

Who we are:

Vital services is a subsidy company wholly owned by BWC Trust.

Vital services is made up of Medical Engineering, Estates and Facilities services and provide these services to BWC Trust.

Lets look at these in a little more detail:

Medical Engineering: Team is responsible for the maintenance, repair and management of medical equipment within Trust, safeguarding both patients and users from any risks that may occur while using medical equipment.

Estates: Our estates team provide reactive and preventative building services as well as an emergency out of hours on call service. The team also carries out a programme of planned maintenance and testing so that BWC is a safe and functional environment for all.

Facilities: This team is a multi-disciplinary team devoted to co-ordinating a number of BWC core support services including

  • Domestic/Housekeeping team provide a cleaning service to all areas of the Trust. We also manage the laundry and linen service as well as the post room and issue ID badges.

  • Porters team provide a 24 hour service which includes key management, patient movement, waste , specimens and laundry collections, the delivery of pharmacy items and provision and support for the night switchboard service.

  • Front of House Our team provides a 24 hour reception and switchboard service
